the check-in was acceptable, but honestly, i could barely see the sign from the highway. how do they expect guests to arrive? painfully disappointing service overall, not what i expected. and isn’t it customary for hotels to offer some sort of complimentary gesture? absolutely no perks. i almost thought of giving them a good review but just couldn’t.

The owner Philip really made our stay nice,, taking us across the border to Palomas for dinner when we mentioned we wanted to try something local. I discovered local crafts in the lobby that captured the spirit of the region.

He became our local guide, recommending the fascinating Pancho Villa State Park nearby and even offering to shuttle us to Palomas for a good meal at The Pink Shop. His recommendation to visit The Pink Shop in Palomas was spot on. the food there was delightful. The continental breakfast wasn’t extensive, but the coffee was exceptional! One downside was the challenge of finding the hotel after dark. the signage needs better lighting. The lack of nearby restaurants in Columbus was a bummer, but I planned ahead by eating in El Paso, so it worked out. Overall, I had a memorable stay and would return for another visit. I definitely recommend it to fellow travelers looking for a unique experience in this charming border town.
